19th May 2021, Greater Noida: A five-day workshop titled “Machine Learning & Virtual Reality in Drug Discovery” as part of the series “Newer Drug Discovery Approaches & Clinical Trials: Their Challenges Ahead” was held recently, featuring Abhijit Debnath, Assistant Professor at NIET Pharmacy Institute, as the speaker. The workshop provided an in-depth exploration of modern technologies in drug discovery, highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in overcoming challenges within the field. Professor Abhijit Debnath’s sessions were meticulously outlined, starting with a fundamental question “What is Drug?” and traversing through the challenges in drug discovery. The talk emphasized the transformative role of virtual reality in drug discovery and the innovative solutions brought forth by AI/ML. Participants were given a comprehensive understanding of these technologies’ current and future impact on pharmaceutical sciences. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Avijit Majumder, Director of the NIET Pharmacy Institute, and moderated by Dr. Sallauddin, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
