19th Dec 2023, Guwahati : The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Assam Down Town University hosted a Virtual Faculty Development Programme from December 18th to 20th, 2023, titled “Enhancing Pedagogy through Innovative Instructional Tools for Higher Education Institutions.” The event was launched with a formal welcome by Ms. Richika Bordoloi, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Prateeti Barman, an overview by Dr. Bijoy Das, and an inaugural address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. N. C. Talukdar. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. M. K. Deb.

Assistant Professor Abhijit Debnath from NIET Greater Noida was invited to deliver a talk on the second day, focusing on “Introduction to Various Instructional Tools for HEIs.”  His session was well-received as he elaborated on the introduction of instructional tools, their significance in modern education, their relevance in HEIs, various types of instructional tools, and the benefits and drawbacks of using these tools in higher education. The FDP aimed to enlighten the faculty with innovative educational strategies and to enhance the pedagogical skills necessary for adapting to the evolving educational landscape. Dr. M. K. Deb Moderated the session. The event was a significant step towards promoting excellence in teaching and learning processes in HEIs, encouraging faculty to integrate contemporary instructional tools into their curriculum.
