Workshop “Computer-Aided Drug Design in Drug Discovery,” Organized by Gurugram Global College of Pharmacy, Gurugram
October 1st, 2021, Gurugram: Gurugram Global College of Pharmacy organized a workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Design in Drug Discovery,” spearheaded by Assistant Professor Abhijit Debnath from the NIET Pharmacy Institute. Mr. Debnath brought an element of inventive thinking to the workshop. The session focused on the intricate process of computer-aided drug design (CADD) and its critical importance in the discovery of new drugs. Professor Debnath’s curriculum spanned an array of topics, including the historical context of CADD, its contemporary applications, the methodologies of virtual screening, the integration of machine learning in drug discovery, and an exploration of the challenges currently faced in this rapidly evolving field. The event commenced with an inaugural address by Indra Raheja, the Principal of Gurugram Global College of Pharmacy, who eloquently laid the groundwork for a session of learning and knowledge exchange. The workshop was a success, enlightening attendees on the confluence of computational tools and pharmaceutical research to expedite new drug development.
